Manchester United are facing a spell without Bruno Fernandes, and it won’t be easy.
Bruno Fernandes was unable to complete Manchester United’s fixture at Aston Villa, after sustaining a hamstring injury.
Fernandes was substituted at half-time, and despite his remarkably reliable fitness record, he is now set to miss upcoming fixtures.
The exact number of games Fernandes will miss will depend on his recovery, and there being no setbacks.
But it has now emerged that Fernandes has set a target for the match he wants to return to.

Bruno Fernandes sets comeback date
It is expected that Bruno Fernandes will miss the remaining Premier League fixtures in 2025, and those at the start of 2026.
According to The Mail, Fernandes is aiming to return in time for Manchester United’s derby match with Manchester City.
This is scheduled to take place on January 17, with United hosting the fixture at Old Trafford in an early Saturday kick-off.
He could face expected City signing Antoine Semenyo, who has signalled his intent to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
United lost the earlier fixture at The Etihad 3-0 in September, and will be gunning for revenge.
Fernandes’ potentially returning for the fixture is good news – but it is also bad news that United could be without the club captain until then.
