Argentina came out on top in the World Cup final by defeating France in a penalty shootout.
This saw Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez lift the trophy, with teammate Raphael Varane on the losing side.
The final ended 3-3 before the shootout, with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe leading their sides in an unforgettable match.
The duo’s spell in Qatar is now complete, although timeframes for their returns to Manchester United are unclear.

Fernandes sends messages to Martinez and Varane
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes paid tribute to both players with messages on his Instagram story reel.
Fernandes wrote to Martinez: “Congratulations butcher”, invoking the defender’s famous nickname.
Meanwhile he wrote to runner-up Varane: “Amazing tournament from you once again.”
Both players did themselves proud at the tournament, and Martinez fully deserved his medal even though he was an unused substitute in the final.
He made valuable contributions throughout, with one real standout moment being a goal-saving block to deny Australia an equaliser in the last 16 knockout tie.
Both Martinez and Varane are World Cup winners, with the Frenchman winning the tournament in 2018. Just a penalty shootout prevented him from winning it back to back.
Fernandes performed well at the tournament himself too with Portugal, named in the best XI for up until the last eight, before his side were eliminated by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
