Tyler Fletcher looked at home in the Premier League
Fletcher was solid in his short United cameo appearance on Sunday, with slick passing, composure and physically he looked absolutely fine at the level.
The slight midfielder has often been picked out for his lack of physicality, with many pointing at this as one concern over whether he would adapt to the first-team.
But against Brighton, Fletcher answered these worries with a display that saw him move, battle and play like someone who is used to the level, with some work physically behind the scenes to bulk up clearly paying off.
It is a small sample size, but the display suggests that Fletcher is absolutely good enough and ready in all aspects to play some sort of role next season.
Fletcher’s finest moments came when he received the ball, and had the composure to roll the ball with his studs, showing his comfort on the football pitch.
As a number six, United could do worse than Fletcher as a depth option next season, he filled the shirt really well.
Fletcher won United’s U21 Player of the Year award this season, and has crowned it with this performance ahead of linking up with the Scottish national team for a training camp pre-World Cup.
