Bruno Fernandes has been a brilliant captain for Manchester United both on and off the pitch.
In his last appearance during the 2-1 win over Chelsea, Bruno Fernandes scored his 100th goal for Manchester United just five years after signing for the club.
Fernandes is a fan favourite and it’s not hard to understand why. Without the Portuguese playmaker, United’s misery in recent years would have been a whole lot worse.
During his time at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes has shared the pitch with some unbelievable talents, and on social media he is often the first to show his support for both current and former teammates.

Bruno Fernandes shows support to Donny van de Beek
Just six months after Fernandes signed for United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer completed the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
Unfortunately, Van de Beek’s United career was a flop, with the Dutchman struggling to break into the first team and often struggling with injury.
He joined Girona in 2024 to try and get his career back on track, but his progress just suffered a mighty blow.
Van de Beek suffered a major injury in what was his first appearance since recovering from injury. According to the Daily Mail, it is a serious injury to his achilles, which was recently operated on.
Manager Michael Sanchez admitted that the injury “looked bad” and in a worst-case scenario it could be an early end to his season.
Van de Beek took to Instagram to address fans after his injury, writing: Very sad and disappointed with this setback.. after working so hard to come back. Thank you for all the lovely messages and support. I really appreciate it. I will fight to come back stronger than before”
Fernandes was quick to reply to his former United teammate, sending a love heart in support.
Former Reds Edwin van der Sar, Daley Blind and Timothy Fosu-Mensah also showed their support for the Dutchman.
How has Donny van de Beek fared since leaving Man United
Van de Beek left United with his momentum and confidence in tatters, but he has slowly and surely been getting his career back on track in Girona.
He has, however, only made 37 appearances for the Spanish club as he continues to struggle with injury setbacks – such as the one suffered in his last performance against Athletic Club.

In glimpses, Van de Beek looked like his former self at Girona, but he has struggled to keep himself fit and available consistently.
