Manchester United are back in pre-season but the players who took part in Euro 2020 have had an extended break.
Bruno Fernandes’ Portugal were knocked out in the Round of 16 by Belgium after a 1-0 defeat.
Fernandes has been granted some extra time to recoup and recover after the most frantic season.
But an image posted on his Instagram story has shown he’s already working hard to get fit for the new campaign.

Fernandes has that relentless drive United need; he wants to play every minute of every game.
It’s important he takes the opportunity to rest but he’s also clearly trying to start his fitness preparation for the new campaign.
It’s not quite clear when Bruno will be expected back to join his teammates at the AON Training Complex.
But what we do know is that his return won’t be the first day of his fitness work and you’d expect nothing less from a player as driven as Fernandes.

United need to give Fernandes more rest next season
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer probably overused Fernandes last season. He was very reluctant to send out a United side without him in it.
Jadon Sancho is coming in now and the England international should be able to share some of the creative burden.
That means that when Bruno does play, he’ll be fresher and have even more energy. It’s a win-win.
Because it’s clear his thoughts have already turned to preparing for next season and helping United end their wait for silverware under Solskjaer.
