Brentford manager Thomas Frank has praised Manchester United midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay ahead of this week’s match.
Manchester United host Brentford at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, looking to get back on track after a weekend defeat to Newcastle.
Brentford are having a strong season, in seventh place, above Liverpool in the Premier League table.
They also inflicted a heavy away defeat on Manchester United earlier in the season, which looks less like a freak result considering the Red Devils struggling away record.

Frank on ‘McFred’
Manchester United’s squad depth has been praised by Brentford manager Thomas Frank.
Frank told their club website that Manchester United will cause them problems even though Casemiro and Christian Eriksen won’t be available through suspension and injury.
He picked out Fred and Scott McTominay as able replacements. Manchester United fans may feel a little differently.
The Brentford boss said: “They have very good players, no matter what. Let’s say Fred and [Scott] McTominay play there, they are very good and are doing fantastic in many ways.
“I guess Manchester United think that Eriksen and Casemiro are two of their better players and every team wants their best players on the pitch.
“But United have such a strong squad – they will put a decent team out there! They will create problems for us on Wednesday night but, of course, they’d like to have their best players on the pitch.”
Brentford duo missing
Brentford have a few injury issues of their own. Defensive midfielder Vitaly Janelt has made 27 appearances for the Bees in all competitions this season, but he is expected to miss the clash.
His manager says that despite returning to light training, it will “probably be too early for Wednesday night.”
Teammate Frank Onyeka has already been ruled out. The defensive midfielder has made 16 appearances this season.
