Manchester United face Wolves next in the Premier League and they will be without a star midfielder for their trip to Old Trafford.

After a hard-fought 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day, Ruben Amorim will hope to end 2025 by making it back-to-back victories against Wolves.

However, Amorim will have to make do with a weakened squad again for the visit from Wolves. Captain Bruno Fernandes remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, while midfielder Kobbie Mainoo faces a race to get back to full fitness.

Wolves midfielder Andre suspended for Man United clash

Wolves remain bottom of the Premier League table with only two points on the board at the halfway mark of the season.

Their latest defeat came against Liverpool with a 2-1 loss at Anfield, and midfielder Andre picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in that clash.

It means that the 24-year-old, who has featured in all of Wolves’ Premier League matches so far this season, will have to sit out of the match at Old Trafford.

Joao Gomes was suspended against United in the reverse fixture meaning he missed out on a potential audition for the Red Devils, now Andre has suffered a similar fate.

Andre played the full 90 minutes at Molineux against United, but now Rob Edwards will have to cope without the Brazilian on Tuesday.

“We’ll have to look after the boys, wrap them up. We’ve lost another one from suspension now [Andre], so we’ll see what team we’re able to pick,” Edwards said after Wolves’ defeat to Liverpool.

Andre has been linked with Man United

Like Gomes, Andre is another Wolves midfielder who has recently been linked with a move to United.

Andre has been billed the ‘next Casemiro’ and has attracted interest from United, Liverpool and Juventus in the past 12 months.

With Casemiro out of contract with United at the end of the season, Ineos have been scouring the market for potential replacements and Andre is on the shortlist.

However, the Brazilian will not get an opportunity to impress Amorim up close at Old Trafford.
