Thomas Tuchel will be leaving Bayern Munich this summer but a move to Manchester United is surely out of the question now.

Erik ten Hag was a man under pressure not long ago, but the scrutiny has eased in recent weeks.

Four wins in a row will do that for you and Ten Hag is now looking at securing a top-four finish.

We are seeing fewer and fewer rumours about managers being eyed up to replace Ten Hag, but one lingering one surrounded Thomas Tuchel.

Reports in January suggested that United would be keen on landing Bayern Munich boss Tuchel at the end of the season.

Tuchel is a big name with Premier League experience and even a Champions League trophy to his name with Chelsea.

We can understand some level of interest but Tuchel hasn’t exactly impressed at Bayern this season.

Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to VfL Bochum meant Tuchel had lost three games in eight days – completely unacceptable for a club like Bayern.

Bayern have been linked with a move to land Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as an interim boss should Tuchel be sacked.

Well, Bayern have now made their decision; Tuchel will see out for season but will then leave the club.

Tuchel will be on his way out this summer and whilst that may seem appealing, a United move would now be a shock.

Tuchel may have ruined United chance

Ten Hag’s upturn in form is a big factor to start with as he attempts to show Ineos that he deserves to stick around.

Tuchel’s own form is a big concern though and he may be the reason for Bayern losing the Bundesliga title.

Tuchel has again struggled to show a distinct style of play and he is understood to be at odds with Joshua Kimmich.

The decision to sack Julian Nagelsmann and replace him with Tuchel really hasn’t worked out and we can’t see United jumping in to give him another big job.

Tuchel is bound to attract interest from a number of clubs but we think the United rumours can be put to bed after a nightmare season in Bavaria.
