Over the summer Manchester United overhauled the coaching department and now Benni McCarthy has been discussing his former boss.
The coaching changes saw Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake most notably arrive through the doors at Carrington, while three major names exited.
Benni McCarthy, Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren all left Manchester United for varying reasons – but most interestingly McClaren is now manager of the Jamaican men’s national team.
However, in spite of the changes made to the United backroom staff, the struggles on the field have continued for Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils.
Due to this, the international break has brought immense pressure onto Ten Hag – although he seems to have survived at least until the Brentford game.
Now, McCarthy has been discussing Ten Hag and admitted one reason he thinks the Dutchman should be kept by United.

Benni McCarthy says only Pep Guardiola would be worth changing manager for
The future of Ten Hag is far from assured at Old Trafford, yet it seems he will still be given more time to save his job.
However, speaking with SuperSport, former United coach McCarthy has been revealing all, and in doing so obviously had his say on the Ten Hag situation.
“Who else is better than Ten Hag”, McCarthy pondered before naming the one name he thought would be.
“You’re not gonna get many managers unless Pep decides to change from Man City to United, then maybe you might have a change in fortunes, but other than that, I can’t see who’s better than Ten Hag.”
Choosing the Manchester City manager as the only man capable of doing a better job is in a way a real compliment to Ten Hag.
With names like Thomas Frank being thrown around, to say Pep Guardiola is the only man better is a compliment.
Will Manchester United be getting rid of Erik ten Hag?
Despite Ten Hag surviving Ineos‘ meeting over the past week, he is far from safe in his position.
The fans are unimpressed and he will do well to turn things around – although it feels that we are one bad result away from a crisis.

With a somewhat favourable run of games, nothing less than four wins can be accepted – although it might even all come crumbling down with defeat to Brentford.
There are some real positives this season under Ten Hag which gives us reason to back him – although on the other hand, there are countless arguments against the Dutchman.
So as of right now, Ten Hag is set to stay, but that could change very quickly in a weeks time.
