Casemiro dropped a masterclass against Brentford in one of his final Manchester United matches.

In the 2-1 win over Brentford, Casemiro produced his most dominant display in years playing alongside Kobbie Mainoo in midfield.

Not only did Casemiro score his ninth goal of the season, but he was also defensively dominant with 22 defensive contributions throughout the match.

United’s other goalscorer was Benjamin Sesko, and the Slovenian piled praise on Casemiro for what he brings to the team.

Benjamin Sesko wowed by ‘machine’ Casemiro

After a hard-fought win over Brentford, Sesko praised the team spirit in United’s dressing room.

When asked by MUTV specifically about Casemiro, he couldn’t praise the Brazilian enough.

Sesko said: “He’s a working machine. The experience, knowledge that he brings on the pitch.

“It’s just a pleasure to have someone like this.”

Casemiro is United’s oldest player, yet his work rate continues to set the standard for the entire squad. Sesko’s attitude has been brilliant since arriving at Old Trafford, and it is players like Casemiro who he will learn the most from.

Three reasons Casemiro will be impossible to replace

Sesko said it best about Casemiro. No player in European football can bring the experience and knowledge that he can bring to a squad.

Ultimately, there are not many five-time Champions League winners out there.

Ineos tend to sign young players at United, so the new signings in the summer won’t be able to fill the void of Casemiro’s experience.

But the third issue that Ineos face when replacing Casemiro is that he has been a reliable source of goals this season.

Casemiro is enjoying his highest-scoring season with nine goals in 2025/26. His aerial presence and set-piece threat is something that United will sorely miss.
