Rene Meulensteen and Gary Neville were both in agreement about the effectiveness of Casemiro’s heading ability after Manchester United’s clash with Brentford on Monday.
Casemiro netted from a header once again after the 34-year-old Brazil midfielder broke the deadlock for Manchester United in the 2-1 win over Brentford.
The former Real Madrid midfielder has netted five times under Michael Carrick since the 44-year-old interim head coach took charge at Old Trafford back in January.
Casemiro has found the back of the net nine times and registered two assists in 33 matches across all competitions in his final season at United before his summer exit.

Rene Meulensteen’s verdict on Casemiro’s header against Brentford in Man Utd’s Premier League win
Harry Maguire headed the ball to the back post to find Casemiro for Manchester United’s first-half opener against Brentford after Bruno Fernandes’ corner kick.
Casemiro effortlessly headed the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher in the 11th minute after Michael Carrick’s men made a strong start to the Premier League tie at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils built on their advantage ahead of half-time after Man Utd and Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko netted a stunning strike past Caoimhin Kelleher.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Rene Meulensteen did not expect Casemiro to be the player who was on the “final ball” when it came to heading.
“Every time it surprises me how often Casemiro gets his head to the final ball in the box,” he said, as per the Premier League’s official website.
“He has such great timing for movement and where to be. He gets up early so the defender can’t do anything and then heads it into the back of the net.”
If Casemiro wanted to stay one more year – surely you would let him?!
Gary Neville says Harry Maguire and Casemiro are both comparable for heading the ball at Man Utd
Bruno Fernandes’ attacking threat from set-pieces under Carrick’s interim reign has allowed Harry Maguire and Casemiro to tap into their respective heading abilities.
Gary Neville spotlighted that both Maguire and Casemiro were the two Man Utd players to be playing a key role from a Red Devils set-piece that Fernandes delivers into the box.
“Casemiro and Maguire seem to be getting the first contact on every single corner,” he said on Sky Sports.
The United legend also added: “The nearer he gets to the end, the better Casemiro gets at the chapter of his Man United career.”
Mathias Jensen pulled one back for Brentford late in the second half, but the Red Devils maintained their lead and sealed a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford on Monday.
