Benjamin Sesko has now revealed why his effectiveness with Bruno Fernandes and three Manchester United teammates finally fell into place in the 2025-26 campaign.
The 22-year-old Slovenia international found his rich Manchester United goalscoring form in the second half of the season under Michael Carrick at Old Trafford.
Benjamin Sesko scored seven times in 13 Premier League matches under United manager Michael Carrick, who has alternated the striker with Bryan Mbeumo.
The Slovenian forward’s turnaround in goalscoring fortunes came with Bruno Fernandes’ stunning impact in the post-Ruben Amorim era of the club.

Benjamin Sesko on the different dynamics with Man Utd stars like Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha
Manchester United legend Michael Carrick made major tweaks to the Red Devils’ attacking set-up after Ruben Amorim was sacked by the Premier League club.
Bruno Fernandes was restored to an advanced attacking position under Carrick’s Man Utd tactics and the Portuguese midfielder was thriving as the No 10.
Matheus Cunha has been a key left-sided winger option alongside Patrick Dorgu, while Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo have rotated on the opposing flank.
Benjamin Sesko admitted that it was important to recognise that the likes of Fernandes, Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo shared differences in skills with him.
“I think everyone has different kinds of skills that they can bring on the pitch, which is really important,” he told GiveMeSport.
“We don’t have everyone with similarities, and it’s important in the club that they have all these skills.
“I think we’re all really skilled, and the quality that we brought this season, I think we can be more than happy.”

Benjamin Sesko on building ‘relationships’ with Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha at Man Utd
Man Utd striker Sesko netted 12 times and registered one assist in 32 matches across all competitions in his debut season at Old Trafford.
The former RB Salzburg and Leipzig forward admitted that his chemistry with his Man Utd teammates was as important on the pitch as it was off it as well.
“Not just that, I think we also work great as friends,” Sesko explained.
“It’s important to have good relationships that can bring success in the end.”
The Slovenia international added: “We go for dinner together. That’s how you can get to know someone really [well], you can have a chat, have a great time. I love those guys.”
Sesko arrived at Old Trafford under former United manager Amorim after the Red Devils signed him from German side RB Leipzig in an overall £73.7m deal last summer.
