There is good news and bad news on Benjamin Sesko.

Benjamin Sesko has finally been pictured back in training. He was seen working out on the pitches at Carrington for the first time since the players reported for pre-season back on July 9.

Sesko was among the players to report on time, but he has been on an individual training plan after an injury suffered at the end of last season.

So it is good news that Sesko is back.

The bad news is that all of his Manchester United teammates have flown out to Norway without him.

Sesko was not included in United’s 25-man travelling squad.

Is this a bad thing? Well it’s unfortunate, but honestly it’s the right decision not to rush him immediately into a game, even a friendly.

In terms of the big picture, it’s good Sesko is back doing some training, and hopefully he will be fit to play in United’s third game against Atletico Madrid at the start of August.

Sesko’s message

Benjamin Sesko posted a short message on Instagram along with training pictures.

He wrote simply: “Getting there…”

It was an acknowledgement that this was an important step forward in Sesko’s recovery, simply getting out onto the Carrington pitches.

In the meantime, Joshua Zirkzee will get a chance to lead the line against for United in the friendly against Rosenborg.

And there could be a chance for Chido Obi to show what he can do, after Ethan Wheatley was left out of the travelling squad.

With Sesko nearing a return, they will need to make sure they seize their opportunities.
