An MUTV presenter and Manchester United fan went viral on social media after an awkward exchange involving a shirt ahead of the Brentford clash at Old Trafford.
United secured three vital Premier League points ahead of the international break after Scott McTominay’s injury-time heroics in the 2-1 home win on Saturday.
McTominay came off the bench, replacing Sofyan Amrabat, and scored a stunning late brace after Mathias Jensen put Brentford into a shock 1-0 lead in the first half.
However, one surprising moment came ahead of the match when MUTV presenter Zarah Connolly had a slightly uncomfortable interaction with a young United fan.

Alejandro Garnacho shirt causes red-faced moment
Connolly was speaking with one fan, later revealed to be Cameron, at Old Trafford and had a special present for him from the United team.
A shirt featuring Alejandro Garnacho’s name was what the team had arranged for one lucky fan, only for Connolly to learn that Cameron wasn’t a fan of the player.
Speaking live on air for MUTV, Connolly asked Cameron for his thoughts on Garnacho and the United fan didn’t mince his words with his response.
“I don’t really like him,” he said in the clip, which has since been posted on X by fans.
Connolly was surprised to hear Cameron’s response and went on to expertly navigate her way through the remainder of the awkward segment.
The MUTV presenter hilariously presented Cameron with the shirt, with the United fan accepting the present before thanking Connolly.
Responding to Cameron’s initial claim, Connolly said: “You don’t really like him? Ah, well, this is going to be very interesting this because we spoke to the team to let them know about you today.
“This is going to be quite funny, to be fair. It’s going to be quite interesting.
“The team all decided that they wanted to gift you a shirt and tell you how happy they are that you’re part of the Manchester United family.
“You’re going to really giggle at who’s on the back now… because this is what the team wanted to give to you today after we told them. You’ve got Garnacho’s shirt!”
Connolly on her exchange with Cameron
Connolly was praised by United fans for how she handled the situation, but she also provided further context for the viral clip on social media.
The MUTV presenter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and hailed Cameron as a “trooper” and revealed that she received a “big hug” from the United fan afterwards.
“After this, he literally [gave] me a big hug and said thank you! He’s a trooper,” she tweeted.
“We found out before the game that Cameron just finished chemo two weeks ago and we wanted to give him a treat from his United family! My bad that we got a player he wasn’t a fan of.”
