Antony was Manchester United’s hero from the Europa League first leg after scoring a spectacular goal to put the Red Devils 2-1 up over Real Betis.
United did not look back, going on to win 5-1 on aggregate. This was sealed last night with a 1-0 away victory.
Antony was not part of the squad after coming down with illness in the lead up to the tie. He did not travel to Spain.
The Brazilian was watching from home in Manchester to cheer on his teammates and reacted after the full-time whistle.

Antony reacts to Manchester United win
Posting on Instagram, Antony celebrated Manchester United’s victory after seeing the Red Devils confirm their place in the quarter-finals.
These games will be played in mid-April, with the draw set to take place later today.
Antony also lauded Marcus Rashford’s strike, writing, “What a goal!! Congrats” and tagging the team’s top scorer in his message.

Antony absence gives Pellistri opportunity
Antony’s absence provided an opportunity for Facundo Pellistri to make his first ever Manchester United start.
The Uruguayan played well, posing a threat out wide and linking up well with his teammates. The main takeaway from his display is that he looked like he belonged.
Antony’s status for the FA Cup quarter-final this weekend is unclear. While we would expect he is back, if he is not 100 per cent, he does not need to be rushed into the starting line-up.
Pellistri has demonstrated there is another option. Antony might have a fight on his hands for his place.
