Wout Weghorst is set to make his first career appearance at Anfield when Manchester United face Liverpool on Sunday.
Anthony Martial has not played since 1 February, when we beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 to qualify for the EFL Cup final.
Even if the Frenchman is fit to play some part on Sunday, he isn’t going to keep the Dutchman out for the whole game.
Weghorst’s only ever match against the Reds came in February last year, when he was at Burnley and suffered 1-0 defeat at Turf Moor.

As per TeamTalk, he said: “I still get goosebumps from ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. There are other great English clubs too, and I always liked Milan because so many Dutch played there.
“I am ambitious and want to get ahead. Maybe at some point play at another club, whether in Germany or in England? But at the moment it is still far away. I feel good and try to achieve the maximum here.”
In 2018, he also told De Telegraaf: “I’ve dreamt of [playing for Liverpool] since childhood.”
But now his first game ever at Anfield is going to be in the colours of their bitterest rivals, so what better time to score his first Premier League goal for United?
His only Red Devils goal so far came in the 3-0 first leg win over Forest, but he has been unlucky in front of goal at times.
Weghorst also does a huge amount of work off the ball for other players, and played a key role in all three of United’s goals against West Ham in midweek.
United fans have already taken him to their hearts for his tireless workrate and selfless desire to play any role which helps the team.
Diego Forlan became a cult hero when he netted twice at Anfield on 1 December 2002, and Weghorst’s standing would rise even further if he repeated that trick this weekend.
