Joel Glazer has apologised to Manchester United supporters amid the disastrous Super League plans fall out.
United withdraw from the charade of the competition after two days amid fierce backlash.
The club’s 52-word statement included no apology and was criticised by former defender Rio Ferdinand.
Now Glazer has posted an apology on the club website. Here are some of the key points from the note…

Key statements
“We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can put things right.
“Although the wounds are raw and I understand that it will take time for the scars to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with our fans and learning from the message you delivered with such conviction
“This is the world’s greatest football club and we apologise unreservedly for the unrest caused during these past few days.
“We also realise that we need to better communicate with you, our fans, because you will always be at the heart of the club.”
An open response to Joel Glazer
Dear Joel, apology not accepted.
You got it wrong, because you just don’t get it. You never will.
Your family have been in charge at Manchester United for 16 years, and this ‘open letter’ is the first communication with fans since a 2005 interview.
Where is the investment at Old Trafford, the net spend in improving the team, and where are the trophies?
It is too late now to make amends. Your apology has been written because of public pressure to do so.
If you truly want to make amends, sell the club to responsible owners who cherish and truly understand what it means to be a football fan.
