Manchester United fans have been patiently waiting for Amad Diallo’s debut since his arrival last month.

He has lit up his two Under 23 performances but has not even been involved in the first team squad yet.

But that’s about to change, according to the Manchester Evening News.

They report that Diallo is set to be in United’s squad for the FA Cup fifth-round tie with West Ham tonight.

Although United need to progress against a tricky opponent, the game should provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with an opportunity to rotate his squad.

The likes of Juan Mata and Dan James will hope for a game if Solskjaer does make changes on the flanks.

Mata hasn’t even been getting into Premier League squads lately, which feels a tad harsh given the classy performances he’s put in when given rare opportunities this season.

It would be a surprise – albeit an exciting one – if Solskjaer threw Diallo in from the start tonight.

But given the chance to use five substitutes, Solskjaer may hope to get him on for a debut off the bench if the game is going well.

Even if United do need a spark of creativity, Diallo has the pace and skill to provide it.

Diallo was the biggest January signing across the whole of the Premier League and it would be great to see him get his first chance to impress in a red shirt tonight.
