Manchester United still have a long way to go under Erik ten Hag but the young talent at Old Trafford is giving fans reason for hope.
Premier League action is back at Old Trafford for the first time since Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Since then, United have won 3-0 at Southampton, beat Barnsley 7-0 in the EFL Cup, suffered a frustrating draw at Barnsley and contrived to draw 1-1 with FC Twente.
Results remain mixed under Erik ten Hag and the Dutchman remains under pressure in the United hot seat.
Ten Hag is though pointing towards the need for patience given the number of young players in his United side.
Speaking to The Guardian, Ten Hag admitted his belief that patience can bring more silverware to Old Trafford in the years to come.

Amad Diallo on Rasmus Hojlund
Whether United fans give him that time and patience remains to be seen, but there are some top young players at Ten Hag’s disposal.
Winger Amad Diallo is one of them having shown real promise in the opening weeks of this season.
The Ivorian has featured on the right flank for United, chipping in with one goal and one assist in five Premier League appearances.
There are high hopes around Amad and his future and the 22-year-old has opened up on some of his United teammates.
Whilst speaking to Sky Sports, Amad was asked to name the fastest player in the United squad – and he went with Marcus Rashford.
Amad then noted that Rasmus Hojlund is up there too, claiming that the striker is ‘so fast’.
Amad threw himself into the mix but was adamant that Hojlund deserves to be in the conversation after watching him in training.
“I think, for me, is Rashi, Rashford,” said Amad.
“I will say also Rasmus. I was a spectator. I saw him in the training, he is so fast. And maybe me, I don’t know,” he added.
United frequent shoppers in Italy
Amad and Hojlund actually have something in common outside of pace.
The pair both emerged with Atalanta and put themselves on United’s radar with their displays and potential in Bergamo.
The pair never actually played together in Italy but now find themselves together as United continue to shop in Italy.
Andre Onana and Sofyan Amrabat both arrived from Serie A in 2022 before Joshua Zirkzee signed from Bologna this past summer.
United have taken a liking to the Italian market in recent years and that may be a focus moving forward too.
United attempted to sign Lorenzo Anghele from Juventus but failed to sign the 19-year-old striker.
Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu is also on United’s radar, so we could see more Serie A talents arrive at Old Trafford down the line.
