Amad celebrates reaching a second successive Europa League final as Rangers beat RB Leipzig

Amad is celebrating reaching a second successive Europa League final. Rangers beat RB Leipzig 3-1 in a thrilling game at Ibrox. Reported United transfer target Christian Nkunku scored for the German side.

Sadly the Manchester United loanee was an ununused substitute and has not played a single minute of Rangers’ European campaign so far.

But that did not stop him joining in the celebrations, and he is evidently loving being part of the club right now.

Amad sent a message after the game which read ‘I love u Rangers’, highlighting the connection he has built with the club despite his lack of action.

Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season

Second successive Europa League final

The Ivory Coast winger sent a message from the Ibrox dressing room toasting Rangers’ success. His reference to the six points is believed to be a dig at Celtic, who have an advantage over them in the title race.

This is the second year in a row Amad has reached the Europa League final, after helping Manchester United get there last season.

Amad scored against AC Milan and also featured against Real Sociedad during United’s run to Gdansk. But he was an unused substitute in the final as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were beaten on penalties by Villarreal.

The winger may be a good luck charm for Rangers, but he is not having the best fortune himself.

He has started only one game in two months, and in this match he was substituted after 30 minutes, after a teammate got a red card and he was withdrawn on a tactical basis.

Rangers fans are beginning to take to him though. Improved substitute displays and a better connection on social media has seen them grow fonder of the youngster, and begin to understand him a bit more.

An editorial from Rangers News this week suggested United should send him on loan to the club for another 12 months to continue his development. This might be a long shot, considering his lack of action, but it does underline that he has his admirers at the club.

Amad could have a part to play over the next month. Rangers are likely to rotate their team this weekend, and Amad could get a start.

The dream would be if he made it onto the pitch in the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt. One way or another, he could end the season with the medal which evaded him 12 months ago.
