Manchester United signed off at Old Trafford on a high with three points against Nottingham Forest.

An entertaining game befitting of Manchester United tradition was the perfect way to sign off at home for the 2025/26 season.

Michael Carrick’s side beat Forest 3-2, making it 36 points out of a possible 48 for the head coach since he took charge.

Carrick is set to be appointed on a permanent basis, with an announcement expected soon.

While we await this confirmation, two of Manchester United’s starters had messages for supporters.

Bryan Mbeumo thankful

Bryan Mbeumo scored Manchester United’s winning goal, turning in a cross from Bruno Fernandes. It was the captain’s 20th Premier League assist of the season.

Mbeumo had been experiencing a goal drought; this was his first strike since the 2-0 victory over Tottenham in February.

Mbeumo wrote on Instagram: “What a first season it’s been at Old Trafford.. Full of up and downs, but always the same target, and we did it all together, teammates, staff, fans.

“Really happy to have meet you all this season and it’s the only beginning! Lot of love and see you next season ❤️”

There is still one more game of the season remaining, with United set to travel to face Brighton next weekend.

Mbeumo has now reached 10 league goals for the season, joining fellow new signings Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko by reaching the milestone.

Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko become second ever PL trio to score 10+ goals in debut season🔥

What an incredible achievement, how many goals should they each be aiming for in 2026/27?

Amad ready for one more

Amad‘s form has also dipped in recent weeks. Like Mbeumo, he is likely feeling some tiredness from his mid-season AFCON involvement.

Despite this, he was delighted to finish strongly in front of the fans at Old Trafford and is eyeing one more victory.

He posted on Instagram: “Winning in front of our fans in the last home game… there was no better feeling.

“One last match to cap off this magnificent season for the whole team❤️🤞🏾”

He added in tribute to departing teammate Casemiro: “#thankscase🤲🏾🫶🏾🙌🏾❤️”
