Manchester United have taken another step towards starting construction on their state-of-the-art 100,000-seater stadium.

Last month, Manchester United completed a land purchase, securing enough of an area to start planning the stadium project.

Now, United have revealed exactly where the new stadium is set to be built, and it includes much of the land bought from Indurent.

The new stadium project includes plans to demolish Old Trafford, but the new venue will be built just a few hundred metres away from United’s current home.

Where Man United’s new stadium is located

United’s website broke the news that an exact plan has been drawn up for the new stadium, which is approximately 350 metres north west of the existing Old Trafford stadium.

At an average walking speed, the new stadium is roughly a five-minute walk from the current Old Trafford location.

Despite concerns over stadium capacity, United insist the club’s new home will have 100,000 seats.

The new design also includes new and improved public transport links, enhanced rail connectivity, and extensive walking and cycling infrastructure.

Across the entire new area, United are confident it will provide a £7.3bn-per-annum boost to the UK economy.
