Alejandro Garnacho is on track to have the most productive season of his Manchester United career so far.

The 20-year-old sits at the top of Manchester United’s top-scorer list this season after netting eight goals across all competitions so far.

Alejandro Garnacho is currently fighting for a spot in Ruben Amorim’s strongest XI at United but there are no doubts that the young Argentine is one of the most promising talents at the club.

Garnacho has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo throughout his breakthrough season at United. Amorim has been impressed by Garnacho during his first month as head coach, and he will only improve with more time and experience.

However, he is far from the finished product and there are a few flaws Garnacho will need to address if he wants to follow Ronaldo’s footsteps to the top of world football.

Alejandro Garnacho’s terrible dribbling record

Many United fans will claim that Garnacho’s biggest strength is his pace, direct running and ability to take on an opponent.

Since bursting onto the scene, Garnacho has been fearless in his approach to matches and has brought flair and creativity to the side.

However, one stat proves that his dribbling needs to be worked on with Garnacho currently the worst in the league when it comes to success rate.

As per WhoScored, Garnacho has only completed eight out of 37 attempted dribbles this season – a success rate of just 21.6%.

To put that into context, that is the worst dribble success rate in the Premier League this season out of any players that have attempted over 30.

Marcus Rashford is not much better with a dribble success rate of 23% (9 out of 39 successful).

Alejandro Garnacho on brink of making history

Already this season, Garnacho has picked up some individual silverware and been nominated for some prestigious awards.

Garnacho was named Player of the Month in October and was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy. Lionel Messi voted Garnacho in third but he ended up finishing joint-sixth.

Garnacho was also nominated for a Globe Soccer award alongside United teammate Kobbie Mainoo. Now he has the chance to do something no one at United has done since Ronaldo in 2009.

After his spectacular overhead kick against Everton, Garnacho has been nominated for the Puskas Award.
