The brother of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has made a telling prediction for Erik ten Hag’s men for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Erik ten Hag’s side have three pre-season matches remaining ahead of their Community Shield showdown against Manchester City at Wembley on 10th August.

Manchester United kicked off their pre-season tour this month with a 1-0 defeat to Norwegian side Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadion last week.

However, the Red Devils bounced back from the loss to Rosenborg and secured a 2-0 victory over Rangers on Saturday at the Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland.

United will return to action on Sunday for their showdown with Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium before they face Real Betis on 1st August and Liverpool on 4th August.

Ten Hag has been without several first-team players for United’s opening two pre-season matches due to the 2024 Copa America and Euro 2024 in Germany.

Alejandro Garnacho has been among the notable absentees due to him representing Argentina in La Albiceleste’s successful Copa America title defence this summer.

Garnacho’s brother makes huge prediction

Erik ten Hag will take charge of Manchester United for his third Premier League season after he inked a contract extension this summer.

The Dutchman’s future had been shrouded in mystery after a turbulent 2023-24 campaign, which saw United finish in eighth place in the league table.

Ineos commissioned an end-of-season review and opted to retain the services of Ten Hag, who is now under contract with the Red Devils until 2026.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos team released funds for United to snap up Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro as part of the club’s early business in the summer window.

United have also seen a clearout of the first-team squad, with Donny van de Beek, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial among the players offloaded this summer.

Roberto Garnacho on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, made a bold prediction that United will win the Premier League title next season.

Alejandro Garnacho’s brother wrote: “I’m saying something and I’m leaving this app again. We [are] winning the Premier League.”

Ten Hag on Man Utd and Premier League title

United have not won the Premier League title since legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out of Old Trafford at the end of the 2012-13 season.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who became United co-owner in 2023, has already stressed his desire to knock Liverpool and Manchester City ‘off their perch’ in the future.

Ten Hag has made it clear that he wants to build on his success at United and believes that Ineos’ support can make a league title challenge a reality.

“A lot, because we won an FA Cup, we won a Carabao Cup, but also we have high expectations,” he told MUTV in July, as per The Guardian.

“We know it doesn’t come overnight – we have to work for it. We are highly ambitious, so we have to raise our standards day by day, and improve every day.

“We are up for more and for higher titles, like the English title and even more, like going into Europe.

“That’s a process that takes time, and we’ll work on it, but I know with the setup at the club, with the changes to the structure, and the changes to infrastructure here around Carrington [training centre], we will be ready for the future.

“You feel it here, it gives a new energy, it gives a new dynamic and that will help us to achieve our targets.

“In the short term, it stays the same: we want to win every game, and we have seen we are capable of beating everyone.”
