The Alejandro Garnacho moment in the game against Ipswich became an unnecessary distraction despite the team doing well in a 3-2 win.
Ruben Amorim took Alejandro Garnacho off in the first half after Patrick Dorgu was sent off and the player went straight down the tunnel.
Amorim said he’ll talk to Garnacho after the game but by that time, the player had already made things worse with his Instagram story.
The story had a picture of him looking desolate after coming off and had no mention of the team or the result/performance.
He’s now broken his silence with his four-word message to the club.

Alejandro Garnacho’s message to Man Utd
Garnacho has had a tough relationship with Amorim ever since he came in but he’s at least shown the character to fight back every time.
Therefore, when this incident happened, it was another test of Amorim’s man management and Garnacho’s professionalism.
It seems like the talking-to that Amorim was going to have with Garnacho has been successful because the Argentinian has addressed the elephant in the room.
Garnacho has posted another Instagram story, this time of himself celebrating with the team with the message: “Important 3 points! Team” with a flexing emoji.

The media are still unlikely to let this rest and Amorim will definitely be asked more about it but he can at least start answering those questions from a position of strength now.
Good learning for Garnacho
It is up to Garnacho how he takes to this incident and grows from it because for a young player, to be accountable is most important.
Once dubbed the saviour of Man Utd, he’s been delivered harsh reality checks by Amorim at every step of the way, the “carrot-and-stick” approach in full effect.
He will make mistakes in the future as well but in Amorim, he’s got a manager who’s dealt with this generation of players a lot more and knows what makes them tick.
If he can take the criticism with the praise and keep working, there have been no indications that Amorim will ever fall out with a player willing to put in the work.
Another bump in the road has been navigated successfully.
