Manchester United suffered another defeat on Sunday afternoon as Ruben Amorim’s side drew a blank in a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United fans may have actually had some hope when heading down to North London on Sunday.
Opponents Tottenham Hotspur have been in similarly torrid form of late and this seemed to be a real chance for United to come up with a rare away win.
United had won just three times on the road in Premier League action this season heading into Sunday’s game, and that tally has not increased.
James Maddison scored the only goal of the game, handing Spurs a 1-0 win as he fired home from close range after Andre Onana’s save.
United just couldn’t find a leveller with Alejandro Garnacho guilty of spurning a glorious chance in the first half.

Rasmus Hojlund fires another blank in Manchester United defeat
United have talent in the final third but the lack of goals is a major concern.
28 goals in 25 games just isn’t good enough for United but Garnacho is not the only player to blame.
Ruben Amorim has praised Joshua Zirkzee but the Dutchman is now playing as a number 10 whilst Rasmus Hojlund’s drought goes on.
Hojlund is supposed to be United’s striker of the future but he has managed just one Premier League goal under Amorim.
The Dane has gone 15 games without a goal in all competitions and hasn’t found the net at all in 2025.
Sunday was another blank for Hojlund and whilst he tested Guglielmo Vicario on a couple of occasions, he was largely marshalled well by new Tottenham defender Kevin Danso.
Danso was strong at the back and notably snuffed out one potential chance for Hojlund to run through on goal before being substituted.
The Austrian will feel that he got the better of Hojlund on the day with the media raving about his performance.
Football London and the London Evening Standard both rated Danso at an 8 out of 10, praising his last-ditch challenge on Hojlund.
The drought goes on for Hojlund but one man who wouldn’t have been surprised by Danso’s display is Rio Ferdinand.

Rio Ferdinand wanted Kevin Danso at Manchester United
United have spent considerable money on centre backs over the years in an attempt to find somebody with the quality and longevity of Ferdinand.
Ferdinand himself recommended Danso last season, believing that he would have been a strong addition to United’s back line.
Ferdinand suggested Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo too, but had clearly been impressed with Danso’s performances for Lens.
Danso admired Ferdinand growing up and found the transfer recommendation ‘flattering’, but United didn’t move to sign him.
United paid around £90million for Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro over the summer, but add-ons could take that outlay over £100million.
Lisandro Martinez’s injury means that United may well look to sign another centre back this summer but Danso likely won’t be on the market.
Tottenham can turn Danso’s loan from Lens permanent for around £21million, according to BBC Sport, and Sunday’s display suggests that the option may well be activated.
Ferdinand will be disappointed with United and Hojlund, but may well feel just a touch justified after seeing Danso shine.
