Manchester United have been defeated in the Premier League, with Ange Postecoglou’s side emerging victorious over the Red Devils.
It was a James Maddison goal that was the difference on the day – but Ruben Amorim’s side weren’t short of chances to equalise, or even go ahead.
There was one miss in particular that spring to mind that fell to Alejandro Garnacho in the 23rd minute, which the young winger blazed over the bar.
Much to the frustration of Manchester United supporters, and notable Red Devils figures.

Amorim and Ferdinand annoyed at Alejandro Garnacho miss
The miss from the Argentine left Manchester United’s head coach with his head a little hot, and no surprise, the amount of times it has happened this season.
He was spotted on the touchline going mental as Garnacho skied his shot, as per Sky Sports.
Manchester United legends also shared annoyance with the miss. Rio Ferdinand took to X just two minutes after the United academy graduate skewed over, stating: ‘Missing too many big chances.’

“I think he’s trying to put it into the corner but he puts too much power, gets under the ball and lifts it into the sky. He has to score.”
Garnacho now has bad Premier League big chance record
It’s no dispute that Manchester United have struggled in front of goal during the 24/25 campaign – and Garnacho has been one of the players at the forefront of this.
In fact, his miss against Tottenham means that of players to have had 10+ big chances in the Premier League this season, Garnacho has the lowest conversion rate (scored 2/14).
