Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund led from the front in the team’s Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt.
It was Alejandro Garnacho who pounced to score for Manchester United after just 40 seconds. He will not get an easier goal all season.
The strike all came from Rasmus Hojlund’s hard work, with the Danish striker putting the goalkeeper under pressure and forcing him into a mistake.
It was just the start of a special night for the Dane, who enjoyed his best performance of the season, saving it for new boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

Hojlund pressing led to opener
While there was some questionable footwork from goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, Rasmus Hojlund really forced the error.
It was exactly what Ruben Amorim would want from his striker, and this was a topic of discussion on MUTV with former stars Wes Brown and John O’Shea.
O’Shea expressed his opinion that Hojlund’s actions could become routine: “Its something we are probably going to see more as we keep improving, being aggressive higher up the pitch, get a press on, and recognising the pass is going backwards.”
He also praised Alejandro Garnacho for doing his part and going with Hojlund, adding: “It’s the sense and awareness of a predator, a goalscorer to sense something is happening.”
Wes Brown added that Ruben Amorim will be delighted with what he saw, commenting: “That’s the sort of attitude the manager wants, the way we press, the high line we set.”
Hojlund first goal was special
Rasmus Hojlund netted a goal in each half that turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead, and the timing was perfect, just before half-time and right after.
The first strike came from a Noussair Mazraoui cross, which Hojlund controlled, before volleyed into the corner, and this one really caught the eye.
Speaking on MUTV, Wes Brown commented: “That’s where we want him for the crosses, the goal was special. What a touch and finish.
“I didn’t think he was going to score from there, and then you think ‘wow’.”
O’Shea was also enthusiastic in his admiration of the Dane’s strike, adding: “It shows a high level of technical ability. That will help his confidence.”
