Manchester United players will sport a slightly different home kit for the Premier League clash against West Ham.

Just days after the incredible 4-1 win over Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final, Manchester United resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday afternoon.

There is nothing left to play for domestically for United, but head coach Ruben Amorim will want to see further improvement from his side at Old Trafford.

Amorim has trusted academy players in the latter stage of the Premier League calendar knowing that key players must be rested for Europe. Once again, the youth will be trusted against the Hammers.

But United’s line-up will don a slightly different-looking shirt for the league clash.

Why Manchester United have changed shirt sponsor vs West Ham

The sponsorship and manufacturing of United’s shirt is worth a lot of money to the club.

United struck a world-record £900m Adidas deal as the club’s shirt manufacturer, and a £60m per season Snapdragon deal for the front-of-shirt sponsorship.

Fans will have grown used to seeing the Snapdragon logo on the front of shirts this season, but that will not be the case against West Ham.

That is because instead of Snapdragon, United kits will be sponsored by the charitable organisation (RED) against West Ham.

Snapdragon have donated their logo space for the match so that (RED) can promote the charity’s work.

United’s Women’s side did the same during their match against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Gary Neville reacts to Man United shirt sponsorship change

United’s sponsorship on the day will be (RED) who work towards ending the world’s deadliest pandemics: HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

After the decision was announced by United on Saturday, former United captain Gary Neville commented on the sponsorship change.

“By donating the front-of-shirt logo for one men’s and women’s match, Snapdragon is showing the world that football can drive real change,” Neville said.

“Together, we can unite millions of fans to fight global health injustice, harnessing the power of football to make a difference and create a brighter future.”

United CEO Omar Berrada also commented on the decision: “Qualcomm Technologies shares our ambition to use football as a force for good and this activation underlines that aspiration, especially at a time when the world faces enormous challenges in helping the most vulnerable in society.”
