Manchester United fans singled out Bryan Mbeumo for one major reason during the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils suffered their latest setback in the 2025-26 Premier League campaign last weekend in their first match in the post-international break.
Manchester United faced Manchester City at the Etihad in the first Manchester derby of the season and Pep Guardiola’s men came out on top in the Premier League tie.
Manchester City defeated United 3-0 last Sunday and the derby defeat put even further pressure on Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim ahead of the Chelsea match.
United dropped to 14th place after the City result and the Red Devils had only won one of their opening four league matches under Ruben Amorim this season.
Chelsea, on the other hand, won two of their first four Premier League matches ahead of their visit to Old Trafford for the showdown with United on Saturday.

Man Utd fans now react to Bryan Mbeumo’s Premier League display against Chelsea at Old Trafford
Bryan Mbeumo has been a standout performer for Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim since his stunning big-money move from Brentford in the summer.
The 26-year-old former Brentford ace started in the right-sided No 10 role of Amorim’s system for United in the clash against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were left in awe at the superb shift that Mbeumo put in for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
One X user tweeted: “Amorim is right, it would be senseless to sub off Mbeumo [changing his mind on the initial substitution].”
Somebody else said: “Mbeumo, what a performance.”
“Mbeumo is a cheat code,” a third United fan posted.
While a fourth Red Devils supporter wrote: “Mbeumo treating Chelsea’s defence like cones in training.”
“Mbeumo is ridiculously class,” someone else added.
A sixth commented: “Mbeumo is our danger man; what a signing he looks.”
“Mbeumo is probably the best player we have signed since Bruno Fernandes,” another argued.
And an eighth suggested: “Has anyone booked Mbeumo to see a [psychiatrist], seeing as he carries the entire team?”
What happened in the Premier League showdown between Man Utd and Chelsea at Old Trafford?
United were handed a major advantage inside the opening five minutes of the Premier League match, with Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez sent off at Old Trafford.
Bryan Mbeumo was clear through and Robert Sanchez came charging out of his box before the Blues star wiped out the United signing with his subsequent challenge.
United capitalised on Chelsea losing one of their men early in the first half, with Bruno Fernandes breaking the deadlock at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Following Bruno Fernandes’ superb opener against Chelsea, the Red Devils extended their lead ahead of half-time after Casemiro turned in a simple close-range header.
However, United suffered an inconvenient setback deep into the first half of injury time, with Casemiro picking up a second booking and being sent off at Old Trafford.
Chelsea fought back against 10-man United and the 10-man Blues pulled one back in the 80th minute after Trevoh Chalobah beat Altay Bayindir from close range.
