Man Utd v Villarreal team news

Phil Jones and Anthony Martial did not travel among United’s 26-man squad.

Harry Maguire faces a race against time to be fit, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give him every chance to prove his fitness. However, he sat out the training session in Gdansk on Tuesday evening.

Our prediction: Man Utd v Villarreal

United will hope to play better than have been since the second leg defeat in the semi-final against Roma.

The size of the occasion should inspire big performances from the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani.

As mentioned above, Emery knows how to win this competition and has the likes of Gerard Moreno in his ranks.

He has 29 goals in all competitions this season and will pose a threat to a United backline likely shorn of Maguire.

But United are favourites and if they keep their heads and perform when it matters, they should get the job done.

Our prediction: United 2-1 Villarreal
