Brandon Williams has made a big impact for Manchester United since coming into the team.
The youngster has seized his spot at left-back and scored his first goal for the Red Devils at the weekend at Bramall Lane.
He has opened more eyes to the talent in the academy, and Ethan Laird could be next.
Laird, 18, has already trained with the first team and has recovered from an injury which saw him miss all of September.
He is one of several young players who is travelling and is in contention to feature for United against Astana.
It would be Laird’s debut, and his performance for the under-23s on Friday showed that he is in good form.
A driving run forward, with a little trick to wrongfoot the defender, led to United’s first goal.
Laird is an attacking full-back who can offer United a lot from the right. It is already a competitive area of the team, but the teenager has different traits to Aaron Wan-Bissaka and it is important he gets his chance.
Talk of Laird getting an opportunity is already creating a buzz among the fanbase.
Laird deserves a shot and this week’s Europa League game against Astana is a great chance to put him in. If not, then he needs to start the other remaining match at home to Alkmaar.
One possible problem for Laird was Diogo Dalot’s return to fitness.
However the 20-year-old has not been included in United’s travelling squad, the MEN reports.
While it would have been possible to pick both in the team, one on the wing and the other at full-back, Dalot’s absence makes Laird’s much anticipated debut more likely.
