Senne Lammens has now sent a clear-cut message about Manchester United’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon.

The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper impressed with his performance when he was called into action during Manchester United’s encounter with Sunderland.

Senne Lammens had made his first major error for the Red Devils in his debut season last weekend after his howler in Man Utd’s 3-2 win over Liverpool.

However, the Belgium international bounced back from his setback in United’s clash with Liverpool and produced a string of solid saves for the Red Devils on Saturday.

Senne Lammens tells Man Utd fans the positives that he took away from the Sunderland match

Manchester United disappointed against Sunderland and the Black Cats produced the better performance overall in the lacklustre 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light.

However, United were able to walk away with a Premier League point at the weekend, with Senne Lammens also chalking up his seventh clean sheet.

The Red Devils have managed five Premier League clean sheets in the 15 matches that Michael Carrick has overseen since his January appointment as interim boss.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, Lammens insisted that both the clean sheet and how Man Utd performed defensively were the “most important things.”

“We had to work very hard to keep the clean sheet away at Sunderland, given the way they have been playing this season,” he said, as per BBC Sport.

“We always knew it was going to be a difficult one. We weren’t at our best on the ball quality-wise, but the most important things were probably not conceding and working together as a team defensively.

“We can take some good points away from that.”

Senne Lammens on the significance of Man Utd’s Premier League point against Sunderland

United are third in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are six points clear of fourth-place Liverpool ahead of their final two matches this season.

Lammens claimed that the Red Devils are still focused on the tail end of the 2025-26 campaign and are keen to finish as high up in the table as they can.

“These are still important games for us because we want to finish as high as possible, with the most points as possible,” he continued.

“However, Sunderland away is a tough one because they are a good team who work well together.

“So, I think it wasn’t our day with the ball, but we can be proud of the things we did without the ball.”

United are now seven points ahead of fifth-place Aston Villa, but Unai Emery’s men have a Premier League match in hand ahead of their Sunday clash with Burnley.
