Manchester United got back to winning ways in the Premier League, beating Fulham 1-0 thanks to Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike.
Manchester United have actually shown some improvement on the road of late.
The draw at Liverpool was a positive performance before United then dumped Arsenal out of the FA Cup on penalties.
After a mixed run of three home games, United were back on the road again on Sunday night.
United headed down to Fulham in search of a return to Premier League form having lost to Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.
This wasn’t a classic but United grabbed the win with Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike finding the net, handing Ruben Amorim a 1-0 victory.

Ruben Amorim on Harry Maguire
United’s winner may have been more than a touch fortuitous but Amorim will be delighted with a clean sheet.
Martinez has praised Toby Collyer’s impact having made a superb goal-line clearance, but Amorim offered up some praise for Harry Maguire too.
The experienced centre back has taken on an important role under Amorim and appears to be right in his plans.
Maguire has had his doubters since joining United in 2019 and his career at Old Trafford has appeared over on many occasions.
The England international is still standing though and his performance against Fulham has been praised by boss Amorim.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Amorim suggested that Maguire is right at home when United play in a lower block.
Amorim thinks that Maguire is at his best when he doesn’t have to ‘cover a lot of space’, which was certainly the case in Sunday’s win.
“When we defend a little bit lower it’s really good on Harry – he doesn’t have to cover a lot of space,” said Amorim.
Harry Maguire stats v Fulham
Maguire marshalled the United defence well against Fulham and again showed why Amorim has taken a liking to him.
Amorim has hailed Maguire as a ‘leader’ and he will have loved Sunday’s performance.
Maguire recorded six clearances and two interceptions as well as winning three aerial duels and one tackle.
United’s performance wasn’t exactly pretty but a win is a win and Amorim will certainly take that.
The attention will now shift right back to Europa League action with United travelling to face FCSB on Thursday night.
Maguire will hope to feature against the Romanian side before United return to Old Trafford against Crystal Palace next Sunday.
