Ruben Amorim had only one message for Manchester United fans after Saturday’s 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest.
Despite a negative scoreline and storm Darragh, there were plenty of positives for Manchester United on Saturday evening.
Manuel Ugarte was one silver lining as he put in a dominant display, running the midfield and showcasing his ability going forward when he was the creator of Rasmus Hojlund’s eventual goal, albeit not directly.

Ruben Amorim would also have enjoyed Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes’ performances as they linked up for the second United goal in the 3-2 defeat.
It was some individual errors which will have frustrated Amorim, with the performance warranting a win due to the dominance United had. After the game, the 39-year-old explained to fans why there should be faith and patience.

Ruben Amorim tells fans to trust the process
While speaking to the press after the game, Amorim conveyed a message of patience as he assured supporters that things would improve.
“I had this and worse at Sporting in the beginning. The feeling for me, it’s the same.
“For the world, it is completely different, Manchester you have a lot of attention. But for me, same feeling. This will turn around.”
Additionally, Amorim told BBC Sport that he knows that this is a project and he is only weeks into the challenge.
“Tough game in a tough moment but we have to continue the job. This is a long journey. We are improving in some aspects. We have to win games to help us improve the team.
“We are at the start of something so big that we pay attention to every detail. We already know it’s a big job so we have to continue.”
Manchester United will get worse before getting better
The phrase ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ is often used when a new head coach arrives at a club, and it reigns true at United right now.
Amorim told fans weeks ago not to expect instant success. Amorim talked of a storm coming last week as he insisted his side would be found out.
This is no shock and is absolutely natural when trying to teach a team to play a different style and learning automatisms as Matthijs de Ligt stated – while demanding 100 per cent effort as well. All while moving through December – the season’s busiest month.

United are undergoing a necessary struggle which will likely get worse over the next few months, before getting better considering how little time Amorim has on the training ground with games every three days.
Short-term pain for long-term gain, in six to 12 months we will be looking back on this and being thankful we trusted Amorim and that he trusted himself.
