Manchester United thrashed Bournemouth 4-1 in the early hours of Thursday morning as pre-season continued to inspire confidence.
Ruben Amorim will be delighted by his Manchester United squad this summer, with all of his demands and instructions being taken on board.
The pressing, build up and finishing has all improved, while United play with a renewed confidence that was previously unseen in Amorim’s Red Devils.
United thrashed Bournemouth 4-1 in Chicago, making easy work of a side who were tipped as the toughest opponent of pre-season as a real statement of the improvements that have been made this summer.
During the big win, United had several top performers, with Rasmus Hojlund continuing his summer resurgence with a goal to crown an all-around strong display.
However, there was one player who was the clear standout for United.

Ruben Amorim full of praise for Patrick Dorgu
During United’s 4-1 win, there wasn’t a better player on the pitch than Patrick Dorgu as the Danish wing-back scored his first goal for the club, while also assisted Hojlund’s goal.
Dorgu’s performance impressed United fans, while Amorim also couldn’t help but be wowed by the display put in by the wing-back.
When asked about the performance after the game, Amorim spoke to MUTV in glowing terms about Dorgu.
“It’s impressive, he’s just 20 years old and he looks more and more like he belongs in Manchester United and that is hard to do at 20 years old, but he’s so powerful, he’s getting technique in his game, he’s defending so well, he’s pressing so well.
“I are really impressed with Patrick.”
It would be hard not to be impressed by Dorgu’s outing, as he continued to show a top class level through pre-season which has made him feel like a new signing.
Having taken last season to settle into life at Old Trafford, this season looks set to be a big one for the Danish international.
Ben Thornley wowed by Patrick Dorgu’s improvements for Manchester United
Amorim wasn’t alone in his praise for Dorgu, with MUTV’s Ben Thornley also left raving about the 20-year-old after his performance against Bournemouth.
“He deserved that [goal], with his all round performance”, Thornley explained before continuing to praise Dorgu’s improvements since joining the club eight months ago.
“I think he was off the pace when he came in in January but he certainly isn’t now, that is for sure, he’s getting himself into the positions you want wing-backs to get into. He’s proved this today by creating the first goal and scoring the second.
“He is quick, he is powerful and he’s going to be a threat.”
When signed by United in January, it was known that his potential was sky high, but this pre-season he has started to demonstrate this consistently.
This coming season looks set to be a big one for Dorgu at United, £25m could soon end up looking like a bargain, especially as he is still so young.
