Manchester United continued pre-season with another thumping victory over in the USA against Bournemouth.
It would be easy to get carried away by Manchester United’s incredible pre-season performances during the 2025 tour.
After beating West Ham comfortably, Ruben Amorim has now watched United absolutely thrash Bournemouth in a 4-1 thumping at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Rasmus Hojlund, Patrick Dorgu, Amad and Ethan Williams were all among the goal scorers on a positive night which will only further inspire belief that United are set for a big improvement this coming campaign.
From the game, United had several winners, but also one loser.

Winners
First, we will look at the winners.
Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United had several big winners to pick from for this game, but it is difficult to choose a player who was better than Patrick Dorgu for the Red Devils.
Dorgu not only provided an assist, but scored his first goal in a United shirt, while he was winning the ball back through high pressing consistently.
Dorgu has been like a new signing this summer and his performance against Bournemouth has been the best of the bunch so far.
Rasmus Hojlund
Up front, Rasmus Hojlund is another massive winner for United, on a day when a United move for Benjamin Sesko is drawing close.
The Dane has been good all pre-season, but against Bournemouth he finally got his goal and showed several positive signs with his pressing
Hojlund has been a man reborn this summer and if he keeps this up, any striker signing will face a tough battle to take his place.
Amad
Another goal scoring winner is Amad, with the Ivory Coast international given the opportunity to play in the number 10 role, where he showcased why he is so highly rated.
Amad was a constant threat and his goal was the icing on the cake.
The number 16 made scoring look effortless, stroking the ball home without a moment of hesitation and giving Amorim more happy problems to solve with competition for the number 10 role now looking rife.
Ethan Williams
Ethan Williams emerged from the bench for the final 20 minutes and grabbed this opportunity with both hands as he scored with almost his first touch.
Williams has been impressing at Carrington behind the scenes and fans got a glimpse of what he can offer in this game.
Amorim even admitted being delighted for him after the game, Williams could really be one to watch this season.
Ruben Amorim
The biggest winner of all for United on Thursday morning was Ruben Amorim, with the head coach answering plenty of critics with this victory.
Amorim won the game without a single big money summer signing in the squad, with Matheus Cunha absent, which shows the impact he has had on the existing group of players.
Additionally, Amorim’s United outran, outpressed and outbattled a Bournemouth side which was notorious for its physicality last season. The signs are incredibly positive for United and Amorim will be delighted.
Losers
Altay Bayindir
Choosing a loser from a performance like this is always difficult, but Altay Bayindir is one loser who didn’t even get on the pitch.
Tom Heaton played for United ahead of the Turkey international and the 39-year-old looked once again like a solid option, which should damage any claim to becoming first choice Bayindir was building.
United remain in the market for Senne Lammens this summer, and Bayindir will be gutted he hasn’t seized the opportunity of Andre Onana being out injured.
