Manchester United couldn’t have made it more clear that they had all their attention on the Europa League in the latest Premier League loss.

The 0-2 loss to West Ham United ignited the fury of Ruben Amorim after the game, even though the thing Man Utd fans will worry the most about is Leny Yoro’s injury update.

United did create many chances and fluffed them all, as is quickly becoming the new normal, but there was still a huge positive to take.

After returning from injury, Amad played 82 minutes and picked up from where he left off, running at defenders, creating chances, and being an attacking threat.

This was the most minutes he’d played since returning from injury and that puts him in line to play the full 90, or more, in the Europa League final.

Considering Amad’s miraculous recovery from this injury, there were doubts over how ready he truly was, with fans skeptical of the player picking up another issue.

His performance against West Ham allayed those fears completely.

Amad looks a class above at Man Utd

It is as much an indictment on the rest of the squad as it is praise for Amad that the Ivorian returned from such a serious injury and immediately looks a class above his teammates.

There is palpable excitement in the stands whenever he has the ball and he doesn’t disappoint more often than not.

Even in a laborious team performance vs West Ham, he stood out as an extremely capable attacking outlet, be it through his runs with the ball or shooting and passing.

That 82-minute outing will be a huge relief to Amorim because he needs all the help he can get to win that final and save Man Utd’s wretched season.
