Manchester United’s Premier League campaign continues to find new lows and the latest game was no different, a 0-2 loss to West Ham United.

The result leaves Man Utd 16th in the table, coincidentally, just ahead of their Europa League final rivals, Spurs.

The loss is damaging from a league position perspective but the campaign was over long ago, which is why Leny Yoro’s injury is much bigger news for Man Utd fans.

Yoro came off for Harry Maguire after falling to the ground under no pressure, always an ominous sign, and MUTV pundit, former Red Devil Wes Brown has dropped a Leny Yoro injury update prediction due to what the Frenchman did after coming off.

Leny Yoro injury update prediction

For starters, it must be said that Yoro did walk off the pitch and into the tunnel on his own so there’s something positive to hold on to.

However, non-contact injuries are almost always worse than contact injuries, and Yoro has a history of problems with his foot.

No official update on Yoro has been provided yet since the game has just ended but Wes Brown saw what Yoro did and has predicted a timeline, including potential availability for the final.

Brown, speaking on MUTV, said: “Putting his shirt in his mouth and covering his eyes for 10 minutes means he’s thinking ahead. He might miss the final even if it’s not a big injury. Let’s hope it’s not but if he is injured he’d be a big miss. He’s been a great player and did better and better.”

Yoro looked completely desolate while he was coming off and, as Brown said, it would be a surprise to see him make the squad for the final.

Ruben Amorim’s gamble backfired

Yoro’s injury will grab the headlines but his injury was just the tip of an iceberg that could’ve been devastating for Man Utd.

Amorim gambled massively by fielding a full-strength team outside of a few players which was needless, considering it came less than three days after the Europa League game.

Rasmus Hojlund also suffered from a shoulder issue which he shook off but again, it was needless risk-taking by the Man Utd manager.

It looks even worse because the team lost, playing worse than the last two Premier League games when youngsters were playing – Against Wolves and Brentford.

It is fair to say that Amorim will have learned his lesson and that should be reflected in the XI against Chelsea on Friday night.

That won’t reverse what’s happened to Yoro, however, and that is down to an oversight by Amorim.
