Manchester United lost under Ruben Amorim, once again. Tottenham this time were the victorious side against the Red Devils.
There were a sea of bad performances for United against Spurs. Andre Onana didn’t have a great game between the sticks and Casemiro looked miles off the pace.
But as Manchester United’s first-team squad players should take some of the blame, Ruben Amorim was also at fault.
One of his decisions, or more so lack of, was arguably his worst yet as Red Devils first-team coach.

Ruben Amorim left substitutions far too late against Tottenham
Even though the bench was somewhat lacklustre with a bunch of young United academy prospects, Amorim was wrong not to use at least a few of them earlier.
Chido-Obi was introduced into the frame at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Sadly, that was at the 90-minute mark. He was able to make zero impact because of this.
Manchester United were chasing the game, and the Premier League fixture was crying out for some fresh legs, particularly with players like Casemiro performing badly on the pitch.
The talent on the bench was young – but undeniably would have had an impact. Jack Moorhouse and Sekou Kone in particular, alongside Chido, would have been positive inclusions.

Amorim spoke about the decision to now bring on the youngsters in his post-match press conference, he said: “They [United youngsters] will play during this season.
“We will have games in the cup and Europe and they will play. I feel it, I think everybody can feel it, we are near the goal, I don’t want to change the players when we are near it.”
The finger of blame doesn’t usually get pointed in the direction of Amorim, but this time he deserves it, as Manchester United supporters have noted.
Manchester United fans not happy with Ruben Amorim
United fans made their feelings clear on Amorim’s inability to switch things up against Spurs. They were not happy.
One wrote: ‘Amorim making no subs in 90 mins and not taking a risk is unforgivable in a game that was there for the taking.’
Another fumes: ‘Amorim is not without fault there. No subs to even have a go. Horrific.’
‘Amorim man no subs after 87 minutes is crazy when Højlund, Garnacho and Casemiro are obviously struggling’, one more adds.
One Red Devil states: ‘These last 15 mins have been end to end… Tottenham clearly have more energy. Subs needed. Can’t believe you would wait until we have two mins left to make a sub while Spurs have made all of theirs. Amorim should have brought Obi on at least 10 minutes earlier!’
‘Amorim not bringing on any subs (3 mins don’t count) is a disgrace,’ says another.
The consensus was clear. Amorim is at fault for his decision there. For once, a decision that has nothing to do with Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Amorim can only learn from this in future. Let’s see if any youngsters get a chance against Everton next Saturday.
