Manchester United fought hard to earn three points against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night.
It was far from straightforward for Ruben Amorim on Wednesday night as his side had to battle back from 1-0 down. Manchester United scored twice before a red card let Ipswich back into the game.
United won the game over Ipswich 3-2 in the end which was a fair result considering Amorim’s side were the better of the two.

During the win, United saw Bruno Fernandes the man of the match as three of his set-piece deliveries resulted in goals.
Andre Onana was one serious underperformer – while Rasmus Hojlund was terrible leading the line for United. One player was hot and cold.

Patrick Dorgu impresses David May against Ipswich
During the first half, one player to impress was Patrick Dorgu who was a dangerman down the left.
However, Dorgu was sent off for United due to a pretty reckless challenge that he can have no complaints over.
Despite taking an early shower, lasting just 44 minutes, Dorgu left his mark on MUTV pundit, David May.
Speaking after the game, which saw United rise to 14th in the league, May was asked who impressed him and Dorgu came up.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 13 | 27 | 10 | 3 | 14 | 53 | 39 | 14 | 33 | |
| 14 | 27 | 9 | 6 | 12 | 33 | 39 | -6 | 33 | |
| 15 | 27 | 7 | 11 | 9 | 30 | 34 | -4 | 32 |
“Dorgu first half,” May began. “I thought he was outstanding. He put in an unbelievable shift before he was sent off.”
May made 118 appearances for United and so is well-placed to be impressed by Dorgu, with the red card the only thing ruining his outing. After the game, Amorim also praised Dorgu, while speaking with TNT Sports.
“Patrick Dorgu is ready for the Premier League, he has proven that in the last few games.
“Any player can make a mistake like that. He wants to play the ball, but he was maybe a bit careless in the way he went into contact”.
Patrick Dorgu stats vs Ipswich Town
While not yet clicking completely, United have shown signs in recent weeks that things are headed in the right direction.
This was also the case against Ipswich, with Dorgu and Alejandro Garnacho linking up very well down the left side, consistently providing a threat.
Dorgu was getting into plenty of crossing positions, which is something which we imagine will become a trademark of the Dane at Old Trafford, as they in time begin to find their target.
Defensively Dorgu was also a standout.
- 1 tackle won
- 1 clearance
- 5 defensive actions
- 2 recoveries
- 5 duels won
Dorgu looks stronger and quicker than most other players on the pitch, which was emphasised when he knocked the ball by two Ipswich players, ran around the outside and still got to the ball first.
It is a shame he faces a prolonged absence, but hopefully, he continues where he left off.
