Manchester United rallied to beat Ipswich Town with just 10 men as Ruben Amorim secured a 3-2 victory at Ipswich Town.

We can forgive any Manchester United fan for fearing the worst after just a matter of moments against Ipswich Town.

A calamitous mix-up between Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana left United 1-0 down inside five minutes with Jaden Philogene tapping home.

United grabbed two quick goals thanks to Sam Morsy’s own goal and a Matthijs de Ligt finish, only for Philogene to score again as his cross faded all the way in.

That equaliser came just moments after Dorgu was handed a straight red card, leaving United to battle with 10 men.

United did grab all three points though with Harry Maguire’s header handing Amorim a much-needed win at Old Trafford.

Manuel Ugarte reacts to Manchester United win

This was a major win for Amorim and another sign that there is some fight and resilience in this United squad after all.

United drew 2-2 at Everton on Saturday, coming back from 2-0 down to win the game despite being a man down before Ipswich’s leveller and for the second half.

The quality in the performances is still hit-and-miss – to say the least – but the fight shown in the last couple of performances is at least a boost.

One man who shows that fight is midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who scored the crucial equaliser at Everton on Saturday.

Ugarte took to Instagram after Wednesday’s win to celebrate the victory with a message to United fans.

‘Back to winning ways,’ wrote Ugarte.

‘Amazing atmosphere at Old Trafford. Thanks for the support. Let’s go.’ he added with the midfielder delighted to claim all three points in a battling victory.

Liam Delap could face awkward Manuel Ugarte reunion

Ugarte’s post featured a photo of him squaring up to Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

Delap and Ugarte clashed as the Tractor Boys star barged Ugarte to the ground, sparking a clash between the two players.

Ugarte did not back down, going head-to-head with Delap before Noussair Mazraoui appeared to push him over.

United fans will love that Ugarte showed that aggressive side with Delap, but the pair may yet have an awkward reunion.

Delap is on United’s transfer radar for the summer with Jason Wilcox potentially keen to reunite with the former Manchester City talent.

United need a new striker this summer and with Delap a prime target, he may need to make friends with Ugarte sooner or later.
