Manchester United fans have praised Lisandro Martinez’s influence on the team after his stunning performance against Wolves at the Molineux on Thursday evening.
Lisandro Martinez made his return to Manchester United last month after recovering from injury, with the defender featuring in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham.
The ex-Ajax player starred in United’s 4-2 FA Cup victory over Newport County last Sunday and impressed with his display at the Rodney Parade in the fourth round.
Martinez enjoyed a superb debut season at Old Trafford after his move from Ajax in 2022 and struck up a formidable partnership with Raphael Varane in defence.
The 26-year-old Argentine defender missed the end of United’s campaign last season after he sustained a fractured metatarsal bone in his foot.
However, Martinez was ruled out of action last September after an aggravation to the aforementioned foot injury and required further surgery.

Martinez impresses for Man Utd vs Wolves
Lisandro Martinez started for Manchester United at the Molineux and was partnered alongside Varane for the Premier League clash against Wolves.
The World Cup winner put in a commanding performance for United and showed exactly what the Red Devils had missed during his absence from the first team.
However, Martinez was withdrawn in the 86th minute and was replaced with Harry Maguire, with the United centre-back later receiving treatment off the pitch.
Eagle-eyed United fans spotted on the broadcast that the Argentina international was getting his foot strapped with ice, raising concerns after his return from injury.
Erik ten Hag will be hopeful that Martinez hasn’t been dealt with a further setback and the ice on his foot was only a precaution after his lengthy absence due to injury.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, expressed their concerns for Martinez over his potential injury amid an otherwise impressive performance.
“Martinez receiving treatment. We never have anything nice,” one fan tweeted.
“Damn, they are icing the hell out of Martinez’s foot, hope it’s just as a precaution,” someone else wrote.
