Manchester United fans have hailed a “reborn” Marcus Rashford after his impressive performance against Premier League side Wolves at the Molineux on Thursday evening.
Erik ten Hag made the bold decision to start Marcus Rashford for the clash against Wolves after the Manchester United star had a disciplinary matter last week.
Rashford was absent from United’s 4-2 win over League Two side Newport County at the Rodney Parade in the fourth round of the FA Cup last Sunday.
The 26-year-old United forward missed the club’s training session last Friday due to illness, but Rashford had previously been spotted visiting Belfast nightclubs.
Ten Hag was asked about Rashford’s visit to the nightclubs ahead of his reported illness, with the United boss saying it was an internal matter for him to handle.
United on Monday confirmed in a statement that Rashford had taken “responsibility for his actions” and the internal disciplinary matter was “now closed.”

Rashford steps up for Man Utd vs Wolves
Marcus Rashford’s recent actions sparked reactions in the football world, with Rio Ferdinand dropping his verdict and Gary Neville sharing his two cents on the matter.
Erik ten Hag on Wednesday said at his pre-match press conference that the matter regarding Rashford had been dealt with and considered the issue over.
“’So, he has taken responsibility and, for the rest, it is an internal matter. Case closed,” he said (via Manchester United’s official website).
Rashford made an immediate impact on his return to the United XI and opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a fantastic finish from the edge of the area.
The England international was lively in the first half and linked up superbly with Luke Shaw, who set up Rasmus Hojlund for United’s second in the first half.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, hailed the brilliant link-up play between Rashford and Denmark striker Hojlund.
However, Red Devils supporters also singled out Rashford with high praise for how he stepped up and made an impact after the controversy surrounding him.
