Manchester United fans could not hold back their feelings on what they saw from Kobbie Mainoo and Patrick Dorgu in the 2-2 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Kobbie Mainoo started the match on the bench after the 20-year-old Manchester United midfielder had missed the last four league fixtures due to a calf injury.
What should Darren Fletcher change for the next game, and what should he keep the same?
Darren Fletcher says he will take charge of Man Utd vs Brighton
The England international was subbed on in the second half and replaced Casemiro, with Mainoo picking up valuable United first-team minutes this season.
Mainoo has not started a single Premier League match in the 2025-26 campaign after falling out of favour with former Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
However, Ruben Amorim was sacked as United manager on Monday and Darren Fletcher took charge of the Red Devils for the Burnley match on Wednesday.

What Man Utd fans felt about Kobbie Mainoo’s Premier League performance against Burnley at Turf Moor

United fans felt that the Stockport-born talent delivered a decent second-half showing, but they are keen to see Mainoo rediscover his best form for his side.

Speaking in United In Focus’ TalkingPoints, one Red Devils supporter wrote: “Looked steady, couple [of] good passes into the final third. Just needs some regular minutes.”
Someone else added: “Definitely needs some minutes. Hope he can regain his form.”
“Great to see him back. Let’s hope he can stay fit,” a third United fan said.
Somebody else posted: “He was decent, not unbelievable, but steady. Hasn’t played in a while, so not back to his very best, I was disappointed with him when he shot from 30 yards in [the] 88th min[ute].”
Kobbie Mainoo was on Man Utd fans’ radar and the same could be said for Patrick Dorgu as well
Patrick Dorgu started in Darren Fletcher’s first match in charge as United caretaker manager and the Danish wing-back was deployed on the right wing on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Denmark international delivered a superb showing in United’s clash with Burnley, including picking up an assist in Benjamin Sesko’s brace at Turf Moor.
“Patrick’s cross[es] are on fire,” one United fan said.
Should Patrick Dorgu continue at left wing after that performance?
A new position for Patrick Dorgu under new management?
Someone else commented: “I was impressed with [him] again. Maybe he’ll be first-choice left winger going forward.”
“I’d say he’s [Dorgu] earned that role for Fletcher’s tenure, it’s just how long that lasts,” a third Red Devils supporter wrote.
“Felt like he had a good game. Was impressed by him,” another posted.
United’s FA Cup campaign will now begin on Sunday afternoon and the Red Devils will host Premier League outfit Brighton at Old Trafford for their third-round clash.
