Manchester United fans dropped their telling reaction towards Mason Mount after the player’s performance against Athletic Club in the second-leg Europa League semi-final clash.

Ruben Amorim’s men welcomed Athletic Club to Old Trafford on Thursday evening and the Red Devils had the advantage going into the crucial Europa League tie.

Manchester United defeated 10-man Athletic Club 3-0 last Thursday in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals at the San Mames Stadium in Spain.

Athletic Club were 3-0 down against United going into half-time in Bilbao and the La Liga outfit saw Spain defender Dani Vivian sent off in the first half last week.

Ernesto Valverde’s men faced an uphill task against the Red Devils in the second leg and the remainder of United’s season hinges on their Europa League run.

United languish in 15th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils will end their 2024-25 season with their worst finish in the Premier League era.

The Red Devils fell to their 16th Premier League defeat last Sunday after Ruben Amorim’s United side lost 4-3 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

United are unable to secure European football through their Premier League campaign and the Red Devils must now lift the Europa League trophy to secure it.

And an eighth argued: “Mason Mount, that is beautiful; that reminded me of Macheda vs Villa.”
