Manchester United are preparing to take on Everton in Saturday’s early Premier League kick off.

The Red Devils come into the matchup at Goodison Park one place below David Moyes’ Toffees in the table, but a win could see them jump as high as 12th depending on results elsewhere.

Under pressure to improve performance levels between now and the end of the season, Ruben Amorim will be demanding to see a better display after suffering back-to-back league defeats.

And one player has hinted that he could be tasked with helping the side do just that.

Sekou Kone hints at Everton involvement

Sekou Kone has yet to make his Manchester United first-team debut, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be long before the young Malian is thrown into the mix in the Premier League.

There are expectations that Kone will outperform Toby Collyer, and with Kobbie Mainoo ruled out with injury, Saturday’s game in Liverpool could see the 19-year-old make his eagerly anticipated debut.

And hinting that he is likely to be included in the United manager’s matchday squad again, Kone has posted a pre-match graphic on his official media.

Nothing to lose

Although Amorim can’t afford many more slip ups this campaign, it is obvious the United owners aren’t going to sack him, so he has little to lose when it comes to introducing young, high-potential talent — and Kone is certainly that.

He has featured six times for the under-21s and under-19s, and has shown enough in those performances to warrant making the step up to the first team, so why not go a step further and give him some senior minutes to show what he can do at this level.

One thing is for sure — fans would much rather see Kone thrown in the deep end than be frustrated by Casemiro’s lack of mobility.

There could also be inclusions for goalkeeper Elyh Harrison and recent debutant Chido Obi after the pair were left out of the under-21’s game against Chelsea on Friday night.
