Ole Gunnar Solskjaer excited by Besiktas wonderkid linked to Man Utd, advised to model career on Cristiano Ronaldo
It’s going to be a hectic summer transfer window for Manchester United as Ineos plan an overhaul of the squad.
Several areas in the team require improvement, and many players need to be sent their marching orders.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been co-owner for a year and we’ve already experienced wholesale changes at the club.
While there’s constant talk of an Old Trafford regeneration project, Ineos have been responsible for up to 250 redundancies so far and more are planned.
It is understood that cost-cutting measures are being introduced as Ratcliffe plans to free up funds to invest in United’s first team this summer.
Many names are expected to be shown the door this summer to help fund a rebuild to push the club forward.
One area of concern is the striker department because Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been unable to provide goals to win football matches.

Manchester United target Semih Kilicsoy excites Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Besiktas recorded their fifth win in seven matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Friday night, after a 3-1 win over Eyüpspor.
One of the young Besiktas players singled out by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the match has been linked with a move to United in the past.
Reports initially stated that United started scouting Kilicsoy a year ago and were keen on the 19-year-old prospect.
“He is an exciting talent,” Solskjaer told beIN Sports live broadcast after the match when asked about Kilicsoy. “At that age, you have to work constantly. You become successful by constantly repeated things every day.
“Ronaldo returned to Manchester United at the age of 37 and was improving himself with extra work.
“We can say that Semih’s season started today. We are eagerly waiting for his next step. There is no such thing as a shortcut in football, you definitely have to work.”
The youngster has been told to model his career on Ronaldo, who Ronaldo watched become a world beater at Old Trafford.
How Kilicsoy compares to Hojlund and Zirkzee
Solskjaer mentions how the season is just starting now for Kilicsoy.
The Turkey international has struggled to replicate the form he showed last season when he managed 12 goals and 3 assists in 35 matches.
This season, however, Kilicsoy has three goals and six assists in 34 matches. He will be hoping for lessons from his manager on finding the back of the net.
Hojlund (7) and Zirkzee (5) have struggled this season but they’ve matched to score more goals than Kilicsoy this season.
That being said, Hojlund is on a 15-game goal drought going into United’s league meeting with Everton this afternoon.
