Speaking after United’s lacklustre performance against Wolves, Lisandro Martinez made it clear that the Red Devils cannot drop Premier League points at Old Trafford.
“I feel really disappointed,” he told Sky Sports.
“We can’t come here at home and draw in this game.
“We have to win when we play at home and the opponents have to suffer. It is very frustrating.”
Ruben Amorim echoed Lisandro Martinez’s sentiments, but the Man Utd manager picked up on something as well
Ruben Amorim was a frustrated figure in the Old Trafford dugout during the Wolves match after United blew another lead in their 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
The 40-year-old United manager suggested that there was a key difference between his side’s performance against Wolves compared with the 1-0 win against Newcastle.
Are you worried about Benjamin Sesko? Do you think he can turn this around quickly?
What is going wrong for Sesko in front of goal?
“We struggled for the whole game,” Amorim told Sky Sports.
“We had a lack of creativity, but we knew that it would be a different game compared to Newcastle.
“We had a different energy during the game, also. If you look at the game, we had our chances, but the fluidity wasn’t there because there is a lack of connections.”
United will now resume their Premier League campaign in 2026 and will visit Elland Road on Sunday afternoon for their encounter with rivals Leeds United.
