Expected line-up for Manchester United season finale vs Brighton, Carrick to give two full debuts

Manchester United round off the season against Brighton away from home on Sunday, here is how we think Michael Carrick will line-up his side.

For the first-time, Michael Carrick will be in the dug-out as the official permanent head coach of Manchester United and he will be eager to end the season on a high.

United will be without Casemiro against Brighton, with Carrick confirming that he played his final game against Nottingham Forest.

With third place and Champions League football secured, Carrick will probably name a rotated team against Brighton, considering there is nothing to play for.

Here is how we think United will line-up against Brighton.

How Manchester United are expected to line-up against Brighton

Victory could see United finish nine points clear in third place, and also score over 70 points in a season for just the fourth time in 13 years post-Sir Alex Ferguson, highlighting the job Carrick has done.

Here’s how we think United’s team will look.

Senne Lammens: In goal nothing will change, Lammens has been brilliant this season and giving a game to Altay Bayindir wouldn’t make sense considering he’s leaving in the summer.

Diogo Dalot: At right-back, Dalot is too important to drop. With rotations elsewhere in the team, this is one position Carrick shouldn’t meddle with, as it’s not worked when he has in three previous games this season.

Leny Yoro: Centre-back is one position we should see some change, with Harry Maguire not needing to be risked here. Therefore, it should be Yoro who starts on the right, getting a rare chance to impress Carrick.

Ayden Heaven: Partnering Yoro should be Heaven, as United need to see the two young defenders alongside eachother, and this low pressure game is a brilliant opportunity, give Lisandro Martinez extra rest ahead of the World Cup.

Luke Shaw: United could easily rotate here, but Shaw will be desperate to play and complete and entire Premier League campaign of starts. He has been brilliant this season, deserving of his plaudits.

Tyler Fletcher: With Casemiro bowing out, midfield will see some change. Carrick doesn’t seem to rate Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount struggled against Sunderland, so it could be Fletcher making his first start for the club to crown a superb season.

Kobbie Mainoo: Despite being World Cup bound, Mainoo is likely to play against Brighton with minutes needed to help him develop after 18 months without playing. Who partners him is the real question.

Who should Michael Carrick pick to partner Kobbie Mainoo vs Brighton?

Shea Lacey: On the right, we are fully expecting a full debut for Lacey, starting his first senior game. Fans are keen to see Lacey play, after exciting cameos earlier this season. He should have played more this season, but this is the chance to earn a bigger role next season.

Bruno Fernandes: Fresh off being crowned the Premier League Player of the Year, Fernandes will be looking for one more assist here against Brighton to take that league record all for himself. Guaranteed to start, but if he gets the assist, expect Jack Fletcher to replace him.

Patrick Dorgu: Left-wing, we might see Matheus Cunha given a rest ahead of a big summer and instead Dorgu starts for the first time since January. He hasn’t looked great since returning, but a start might help him put in a strong performance to end the season.

Bryan Mbeumo: Leading the line, Benjamin Sesko remains out and Joshua Zirkzee isn’t good enough. Therefore it should be Mbeumo again, as he will want to show better finishing than he did against Forest and get Fernandes that record.

Do you agree with our EXPECTED Man United XI to face Brighton?🤔

What CHANGES would you make? And who NEEDS to start this one?
